It’s been almost a month since my last update here, and people have been asking. I think I sent out something in my newsletter.
Hubby’s first of what is expected to be two surgeries is on July 14th. The second is a week later.
We ran into a small problem with his antibiotics. He went off his IV antibiotics (the $800 a week out of pocket ones 🫣) and was supposed to have oral antibiotics start up immediately. He went to the pharmacy twice…nothing. He called the hospital pharmacy, the prescribing doctor’s office, and no one at her office could have possibly cared less. They said “She’s working in the hospital this week.” As if that somehow made her completely unreachable.
Hubby kept trying and trying to reach her. The last thing we want is another infection.
A few days ago, she finally called back, and she had the nerve to he surprised that he hadn’t been on antibiotics for the past week. The reason? She wrote the prescription but never sent it into the system.
I’d like a new infectious disease doctor for him please. Someone who cares enough to pay attention and be reachable DURING THE WORK WEEK when the matter is this serious.
But anyway, he’s on his antibiotics now, and his appointment is approaching. This one will be to remove as much of the stone as possible, but it’s so large they anticipate the second surgery on the 21st.
He still has the tube in his kidney, and he’s being very careful not to put any strain on his kidney while it’s functioning at a diminished capacity. He wanted to go to a wheelchair basketball tournament the other day, and I made him promise just to watch. No jumping in and showing everyone up.
But overall, he’s doing incredibly well! He’s gone on a couple walks with me, worked a few shifts at the restaurant, and went blueberry picking with me ❤️ We have felt so blessed.
That is where we are right now!
Things to keep praying for:
- That everything goes perfectly with his upcoming surgery.
- That doctors can prevent another infection after the surgery (which they did say is possible)
- That he doesn’t get too excited to be back to normal after the surgeries that he overexerts himself. He is ready to be on the move!
- That God continues to help us deal with the financial burdens of all this.
Thank you all for continued prayers.
Thank you for the support you all have shown us during this battle. We appreciate you so much!

Last night I dreamed that he was treated and then miraculously stood up and flexed muscles for you. 😂 ( To show you how strong he felt) He ended up being very very tall, much taller than you. 🤷 Maybe you can get a chuckle out of this at least. ❤️
What’s funny is, if he weren’t disabled, he would be around 6 foot five
GOD IS GOOD AND VERY MUCH IN THE MIRACLE MAKING BUSINESS!!!GOD LOVE y’all C C🙏🙏☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻🫵🏼🫵🏼❤️❤️
As a medical person, if it was me and this happened to my husband, I would definitely change infectious disease physicians, one who has their patient as their first priority
Continued prayers.

Sadly the health care industry in US has many flaws – hard to get appts, medications, staff person who cares beyond a paycheck. But your situation is unconscionable. Praying successful surgery and healing.
