Hubby Update 6-16-26

Hubby is home!

He is going to be very limited in what he can do for six months or so because his kidney has improved but it’s not fully healed (and he doesn’t have a spare to rely on.) The next several weeks are going to be especially restrictive because of the kidney tube and picc line for antibiotics.

The antibiotics will be 24/7 until his surgery (we don’t have a date for that yet) The bacteria is so strong and resistant that they don’t want to give it so much as a few hours of window to get stronger.

The kidney doctor told him to limit his activity, to “pretend like you’re a disabled person for a minute” 😂😂 Because he’s usually soooo active.

I’m going to be responsible for taking care of administering his antibiotics, which is a little scary, because they said if I don’t do thinks correctly, he could get a bad blood infection. No pressure…

But the alternative is continued hospitalization just for the antibiotics.

He’s looking forward to being home with our fur-babies and resuming some semblance of normalcy.

Things to keep praying for:

1. That we can get his surgical appointment sooner rather than later.
2. That doctors can keep this infection completely under control so he can have the surgery
3. That the tube in his body continues to function without issue
4. That his spirits remain high despite all of these hardships. It’s so much for him to deal with, and Hubby hasn’t been able to (and won’t be able to) really work for quite a while. (That’s really hard for him personally, because he loves working 😆)
5. That God will help us deal with the financial burdens of all this.
