He does have another infection. We were hoping it was just the previous infection lingering, but it’s a brand new infection that started while taking antibiotics for the previous infection.
He did go septic again, after they went in and fixed his kidney tube, because the new antibiotic they gave him yesterday didn’t work for this strain of bacteria. His fever spiked to 104.2 yesterday, and we had to load him up with ice packs. I brushed ice cold water through his hair. We got his temp back down to 101.
Unfortunately, he spiked to 104 again today, and his blood pressure is lower than it should be. That’s what landed him in ICU last time.
For now, he’s still in general care. They figured out what the strain of bacteria is, and he’s on IV antibiotics that are supposed to work now. A couple more days in the hospital as he battles this.
Things to keep praying for:
- That we can get his surgical appointment sooner rather than later.
- That doctors can get this infection completely under control
- That the tube in his body continues to function without issue
- Stress (that’s more me than him) and peace
- That God will help us deal with the Tsunami of hospital bills coming our way
I have a Gofundme set up. I’m not asking you guys to donate money–you’ve done more than enough for us–but if you wouldn’t mind sharing it, I would be immensely grateful https://gofund.me/fc5467f23
If you run into people who are uncomfortable with Gofundme, but would like to help, I have a thank you card donation option on my website.
