Description
It has been a long and difficult year for the NYPD, and they gather at a banquet in remembrance of their fallen. While in attendance, Holly stumbles across a mysterious note and attempts to follow it back to its source–to a man who has something to do with her best friend’s comatose brother.
This is a short story (60 pages) that falls between the first Holly Novel, Criss Cross, and the second, Cross Fire. It is a short but well-rounded story of mystery and forgiveness.

Love it!
I loved getting to know Jace and the story behind her brother better, and it helps to bring even more depth to the characters. This short novel is a great addition to the series.

Great short story!
Great short story to segue “Criss Cross” and “Cross Fire”. This tells a bit about what happened to Jace’s brother. Very short story (I started and finished in in one 40 minute bus trip), but great information to connect the books! You could probably read this one by itself, but I wouldn’t recommend it…. and you could read the series without this short story, but it does add some depth to various aspects of the overall story. And…. it’s free when you sign up for the author’s newsletter, so no reason not to read it!

Just as suspenseful as the full-blown novels, and adds more detail around the characters. Loved it!
