MYSTERIES, MISCHIEF & MARSHMALLOWS, BOOK TWO
Old Mr. Berkshire hasn’t opened his attic in years. So long, in fact, that the door is covered in cobwebs. But why is it locked? To keep people out or to keep something in?
Holly is certain Mr. Berkshire has a mysterious secret hidden away inside, and he doesn’t want it to escape.
When the lonely, old man admits to being haunted by what’s behind that door, and he accidentally lets it free, Holly and Jordan set out to find the ghost from Mr. Berkshire’s attic. No one is allowed to haunt Holly’s friends, and she plans to catch this rude ghost and tell her so.

I loved this book. I like getting more information about young Holly and Jordan, and getting to know Gin a bit.
There are laugh out loud moments as well as touching scenes of friendship and family.

Once again C.C. has amazed my son (age 10) and I with another wonderful book! From the personal message and autograph, to the encouraging post card, bookmark and sticker, and then the phenomenal story; my son feels like a superstar and that’s all thanks to C.C. Warrens. She puts thought and detail into everything she does.
My son and I read this together and I have to make myself put the book down so I can get my chores done.
Highly recommend this book for kids and adults alike!

Holly and Jordan are back for another adventure! This time, while helping out their neighbor with some chores, they begin to think that he may have a ghost living in his attic. After some strange events and talking with their neighbor, they begin to investigate, trying to track down this mysterious “ghost”. But what they find may not be a ghost at all but a chance to reunite some old friends.
This is the second book in the Mysteries, Mischief, and Marshmallows children’s series and I think I may have liked this one even more than the first one! This one had another great mystery for Holly and Jordan to solve, foreshadowing their working together in the Holly novels. It was cute to get their young perspectives and misunderstandings as they try to figure out what’s going on. Like in book one, I really loved the character development with Jordan and how he’s been shaped by his own father and Holly’s father in different ways. The scenes with Jordan and Holly’s dad were my favorite. I’m glad that Jordan had Mr. Cross to rely on. There were a few parts that made me sad, knowing what happens in the future regarding their friendship. Young Jordan is so afraid Holly will go away and my heart just broke for him. All in all, I really loved getting to visit with my favorite characters again and see their character development. The mystery was cute and great for children with little lessons built in as well. I would definitely recommend for kids and adults alike.

The second Holly children’s book is well written and sure to hold a child’s attention. The story comes alive as you read it! It’s like stepping back in time to the late 1990s 🙂 I highly recommend these books as well as the Holly Cross series which feature Holly as an adult. Those books are not meant for children and have some heavy scenes but are all written with a Christian viewpoint and closed door/clean narrative. C.C.’s Cherry Creek series is also off to a great start!! I can’t love these books enough!! ***No, I don’t actually know C.C., I have not received any free books from her, my thoughts are my own, and nobody has paid me to write a review. Some books/authors are just worth taking a few moments to acknowledge and review 🙂 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I loved this book! It’s so neat to see how this friendship between Jordon and Holly developed. And, all through the years they were apart they never lost it.

Absolutely LOVE getting to know Holly and Jordan as children. Holly & Jordan’s characters tollay line up with what I would have imagined from reading all of the Cross Cross Series. (If you haven’t read them yet, get them now)!
Holly is such a spitfire with a heart bigger than life. Her imagination & enthusiasm is priceless. I enjoyed getting to know Gin’s character as well since she is reference in the adult series
I love the adults in these books as well. I only wish I could have spun the positive Biblical values they so easily spit out to my child when he was growing up. There is a lot to be learned in these books even as a adult.
Thank You CC! Keep them coming!!
